BBQ Meister John Clue and his crack BBQ team kept the free sausages flowing at the Mount Alexander Shire Australia Day/Survival Day community event on 26 January.

With forecast temperatures reaching toward 40°C, Mount Alexander Shire decided to relocate the Australia Day/Survival Day community event from the traditional Victory Park location to the shade of the Castlemaine Town Hall.

Rotary Castlemaine was entrusted with the cooking of free BBQ sausages to feed the throng. Even with a marquee and outdoor umbrellas, it was hot work outside whether bent over the cooking sausages or delivering them wrapped in bread to patrons.
