Rotary Castlemaine and local leaders gathered on Sunday 21 June to celebrate the Club’s past year of service and welcome in a new President and Board.
Special guest at the Changeover Luncheon was Past District Governor, Michael Lapina, who spoke about

While reflecting on his experience as President over the past year, Trevor said that he never stopped learning. ‘I’m so pleased I put my hand up for this role. It was a privilege to be recognised as the leader of this club that is so valued by the community. Rotary has so many programs in place and there is so much energy around youth, we must never underestimate the value of what we do.’
Before handing over the Presidential chain to incoming President, Marina Scott, Trevor paid tribute to all directors with special mention made of Jane Anderson, Michael Johnson, John Clue and Robert Airton who are stepping down from the board.
In the presence of her family, Marina Scott was inducted as President for the 2026-2027 year and spoke about her aspirations for the year ahead including a new breakfast club for younger people. ‘We are incredibly proud of our club’s rich legacy of service, but to ensure we continue making a meaningful impact, we are actively looking to evolve and grow. We want to invite the next generation of local changemakers—young professionals, busy parents, and anyone with a passion for giving back—to bring their fresh energy, ideas, and unique perspectives to our table. Rotary today is flexible, dynamic, and focused on hands-on local action that fits into modern, busy lives. If you have been looking for a way to connect with your community, build your network, and lead projects that genuinely matter, we want to hear your voice,’ she said.
Marina then introduced her new board with equal representation of male and female directors that clearly reflects the Club’s membership. In addition to conducting two major community fundraising events and assisting youth and groups, Rotary meets Wednesday evenings for fellowship and to hear from a range of interesting guest speakers. Anyone is welcome to join Rotary or attend the new breakfast networking sessions.
