Rotary Castlemaine and outgoing President Trevor Bray were recognised for their work with the bushfire recovery by District Governor Peter Shepheard at the District 9800 Changeover event on Saturday 27 June 2026.

Castlemaine was proud to be recognised as part of District Governor Peter Shepheard's 'shoutout'.

At the conclusion of a busy year of service, President Trevor Bray was also honoured with a Paul Harris Fellow recognition.

In the wake of the devastating January 2026 bushfire that impacted the township of Harcourt and surrounds, Rotary Castlemaine stepped up to assist.  "While everyone chipped in to do their bit," said DG Peter Shepheard, "President Trevor Bray embraced the challenge and provided clear and decisive leadership. For that leadership above and beyond the normal role I am pleased on behalf of Rotary District 9800 to make Trevor a Paul Harris Fellow one of the highest honours in Rotary."

"I was proud to represent our club and all our members who stepped up when needed," said Trevor who admitted to being totally surprised by the presentation.
