There were hectic moments on Sunday as more than 500 works of art were delivered to Castlemaine Town Hall by hopeful and expectant artists.

"A record number of entries for this show reflects the work that Castlemaine Rotary volunteers put into the organisation of the show before we even see the first art arrive," noted Art Show Chair, Rotarian Robert Cordy. "It was gratifying to have so many artists comment on the professionalism of the arrangements."

Now the baton is passed to Curator Catherine Tait as she designs the show.

Curator Catherine Tait and Rotarian Edwina Coller begin the task of displaying more than 500 artworks.

"My goal is to present this show as a wonderful exhibition of artwork, that complements artist's work and creates a lovely, enjoyable experience to walk through," said Catherine.

The first chance to see the show will be the Gala Opening at 7pm Thursday 5 June at Castlemaine Town Hall. Tickets are available at the door.

"At $25 per head, with a complimentary drink and finger food and the opportunity to view, and perhaps purchase, some of this wonderful art, we think that is terrific value," said Robert Cordy.

The show is open to the public across the King's Birthday long weekend from 10am–4pm Friday through Sunday and 10am–3pm Monday. Entry is $5 per adult, under 16s free.
