Rotary has committed to support Applefest on Saturday 7 March. We will have a rotary marquee where we can chat with members of the pubic and talk all things Rotary. The Applefest Committee is expecting to be inundated with lots of visitors and has secured some parcels of private land for additional parking. They are now seeking Rotarians to volunteer as parking attendants for a 1.5 hour shift in the morning and then afterwards invite you to enjoy the festivities and of course drop in to the Rotary Marquee. Tasks: See Volunteer signup list for shifts Marquee Setup: 8.30am – 9.30am Marquee Welcome & Chat [please wear Rotary top / badge] 10.00am-11.30am Parking First shift: 9.30 to 11.00am 9.15am meet at Cumberland Hotel to carpool to Harcourt. 9.30am report to Volunteer marquee corner High & Victoria Sts for instructions. Parking Second shift: 10.45 to 12.00 or when park full 10.30am meet at Cumberland Hotel to carpool to Harcourt. 10.45 report to volunteer marque for instructions. |

Darcy and Emily Driscoll from the Goldfields Equine Centre have provided very popular entertainment for children at the Truck Show over the past two years. We love it when a young couple create a new business in our community and invite you to join us this coming Wednesday evening for a vocational visit to learn more about what they do. Guests of Rotarians welcome. Please register by 1pm on Tuesday so we can organise catering. 6.00pm Tour and overview of the business [closed footwear recommended] 7.00pm BBQ tea $20 [BYO drinks] Please reach out to a fellow Rotarian if you would like to share a ride to the venue. |

Rotarians and interested members of the community are invited to join us on a tour of the Donation-Distribution Centre for the Harcourt Fire Relief effort. 5.00 - 6.00pm at 7 Johnstone Street, Castlemaine [formerly Castlemaine Mitsibushi]. Volunteer coordinator, Tania Butterworth, will show us around and answer any questions. You can read a summary about Tania and her talk at Rotary in February HERE Afterwards we will gather at the Maurocco Bar for FFF pizza and fellowship 6.00-8.00pm. |

Our FFF Night this month is at the Maurocco Bar at the Private Midland Hotel. Drinks can be purchased at bar prices and we will order in a variety of pizzas and other treats from Big Jims to share. He will explain and discuss his research into establishing an Emergency Relief Network in Central Victoria. Some members may have heard about WERN and RIMERN or RAWCS ! please come along to find out what these acronyms stand for and how castlemaine Rotary might be able to be involved. |

Every now and again we, as Rotarians, get to visit and experience some amazing places this week will be one of those times, fellow Castlemaine Rotarian Rod Hay has invited us all to see his boats, trophies, photos and much more. This will be our FFF evening! We will meet at Rod's place, PLEASE NOTE THE EARLY START TIME, have the grand tour and then head to The Five Flags Hotel (just down the road) for the evening meal. Sounds like an unusual but fun time. Rod is happy to have our family and friends, that might be interested in seeing this collection, join us. Please RSVP with the names. |

Come and enjoy a convivial evening at Bendigo Trots. There is likely to be a bus available from the Cumberland (and returning to the Cumberland) ․ otherwise car pooling. Lunch required over a hour and a half timeline. Charge is $15 per head for a minimum of 120 people. Good profit opportunity. |
