The menu is generous with plenty of options for diverse dietery requirements and for those of us who are curry 'adventurous' or 'timid'. smiley

Guest Speaker, Chair of the Castlemaine Cemetery Trust Team, Deb Tranter is coming to our Castlemaine Rotary meeting to give us a fascinating though brief presentation. The Cemetery has seen impressive improvements and beautification with Deb as Chair and this is reflected as well by the positive feedback by visitors and families. The Castlemaine Cemetery is listed on the Victorian Heritage Register and is considered of great historical, cultural and architectural significance. We know a little about the times of the Gold Rush, the Chinese Community and Fanny Finch but how much more is there to hear about..?

We have author Lyn Cooper coming this week. Come and hear her story about how she has found herself writing an amazing story about the Goldfield times. Titled The Mystery Medal - A Tale of Crime and Compassion - Castlemaine Goldfields 1889. We are looking forward to a wonderful presentation and meeting Lyn.

Rotary Club Night

I am trying to encourage more members to consider giving us a little "Behind the Badge" sometimes it might be a new member sometimes it might be a member of with more years of service. Let's wait and see.

Wonderful FFF night at Lola Bistro

Castlemaine Rotary have been given a booking for the Lola Bistro, within the Theatre Royal, for our Fellowship evening. This is a great opportunity as they do not usually give groups a booking. We do require members and their family/friends to rsvp, with numbers and food/menu choices, as we will be submitting these to the venue on Monday. This will be a great night as it is solely booked for Rotary and being a Wednesday it is Lasagne night as well (Bolognese or fungi) along with the usual pizza choices - all delicious. Assisting the White Suffork Elite Sheep Show with maitaining the cleaning of the parade/judging arena.

Required times. Friday 12th September 8am - 6pm & Saturday13th 8am - 2.30pm

We provided volunteers for this event last year. Club will receive a $500 donation.

Join with us to launch the 2025 Foundation Month / Walk with us for Polio event.

Rotarians, partners & interested friends gather at 9:30AM on the corner of Odgers & McManus Rds, Barkers Creek for a pleasant stroll on a circular track through the State Forest.

~ Parking available at Graham Jennings' property on the corner.

~ After the walk drive the short distance down McManus Rd to the Cordy residence for morning tea.

~ $20 donation

~ Mimosa, coffee, tea & scones/cake/sandwiches etc. provided.

Please RSVP prior to the 2nd of October for catering purposes.

Castlemaine Rotary Speaker Night

This week we have Tehree Gordon OAM, Owner and Director of Jirrahlinga Dingo Conservation and Wildlife Education Centre. The sanctuary is located deep in the bush of Chewton in the Diggings National Park. Tahree has her own amazing story as well as the story of Jirrahlinga.

We meet at the Sexton's Office Cemetery Road Campbells Creek at 5pm. Then after the tour we make our way to the 5 Flags Hotel for the meal - we have tables reserved. Join us for the tour and the meal and fun.

Good evening, sorry about the late notice.. just had some change of plans. This week Castlemaine Rotary will be delighted to have KLFM presenter Graeme Clarke (also Rotarian) and Red Cross volunteer Mandy Grinblat (or someone just as pleasant and knowledgeable) - to present their part of 'behind the scenes' of community emergencies. As we have now, a month to go before the Summer months arrive please come to this meeting to hear about two of the services that are preparing to help us, if we need, particularly in the case of fire or flood.

Warral Maldon is run by an experienced team of dedicated staff in Maldon, Victoria, where 2,600+ hives produce over 150 tonnes of honey and 2,000kg of beeswax each year.!
