Life is full of interesting contrasts and our first meeting for 2025 presents one of the more unexpected examples. Member Rob Airton's badge includes the label Security. It's not hard to imagine Rob on the door of some swinging nightspot, but his 35-year obsession with the Eastern art of bonsai is in stark contrast to first impressions.
Rob will explain how bonsai changed his life and give us an overview of this ancient and delicate art.
At the conclusion, we will repair to the Cumberland for an FFF dinner.

Do you know if you could benefit from a social prescription? Do we know of someone who could be helped? What is Social Prescription? And why are our local GPs getting excited about this non-pharmacological remedy? Dr Richard Mayes is speaking about this at our Rotary meeting this Wednesday. Richard was invited to give this presentation at the first TedX day at Maldon last year and now we have managed to get him booked for us. This is for us, for our families and our community. Come along and find out what it is all about. Chris is our Chairman and Richard's partner Lucy will be joining us for our first meeting back at The Cumberland. |

We are all used to coming to Club meetings and events and, for the most part, we give scant thought to what goes on behind the scenes to get to that point. For this Club Night, President Terry Murphy will do an intimate Q&A with some key members of the behind the scenes team. Many of our members have been behind the scenes, but many others haven't. This is a chance to start to find out, not just how it all comes together, but how YOU might be able to be involved. |

To all members, please book in to share an evening of Fun, Friends and Fellowship. We always enjoy these evenings where we can meet at a lovely local venue and share good conversation and food. This Wednesday Rotary have arranged for us to go to the Nem Viet, a Vietnamese restaurant with a very tempting menu! (lots of yummy choices) It is licenced so no need to bring your own drinks. An excellent opportunity to be with friends and experience this amazing restaurant in our own town. The management have been very gracious and keen for us to come. |

Robyn Howarth was 10 years old in 1972 when she was kidnapped, along with five other pupils and her teacher, from the tiny school in Faraday, Victoria by two masked men. The ensuing search was the biggest Police and community operation in the State. She tells her story through the lens of her childhood thoughts and feelings and the effect the kidnapping had on her, her family and the local community. Copies of Robyn's book, Faraday: A Community Rediscovered will be available for sale. |
